Nate Chen Takes P7 at Round 1 of Formula DRIFT PROSPEC in Orlando

Washington, DC – June 1, 2022 – Nate Chen Takes P7 at Round 1 of Formula DRIFT PROSPEC in Orlando
Nate Chen finished P7 at the first round of Formula DRIFT PROSPEC in Orlando. This marks Chen’s first Top 8 finish in a Formula DRIFT competition. Additionally, Chen finished in Third Place for the Throdle Contingency award. Throdle is a premier app community of car and motorsports fans who connect through their shared passion of cars, groups, and experiences.
“Very excited to finish in the Top 10 for the first time in a Formula DRIFT PROSPEC competition”, said Nate Chen, driver of the NCR Toyota 86, “The efforts of my team plus Jerry Yang Racing proved to be an awesome combo in battling through gremlins such as an alternator failure, crank sensor issue, and culminated with calling our 5-minute competition timeout in the Top 16 to adapt a power steering pump to my car that was originally meant for Kazuya Taguchi’s FRS.”
“Despite those mechanical issues, I was able to get myself in the right mental space to battle Richard Advani in the Top 32 in dark and completely wet conditions, Rich Whiteman in the Top 16, and Ben Hobson in the Great 8.
